Badungduppa

THE THEATRE OF FOLKLORE

This was one of my special works on the unique theatre festival celebrated amidst the dense woods of the Sal Tree. The avant-garde folk theatre festival is set in the remote village of Rampur in Goalpara, Assam. Over the years, the festival has seen thousands of spectators flock to the village and enjoy the plays. For this assignment, the correspondent of Goalpara district helped capture some beautiful moments of the festival. Before he went out for the shoot, I presented him with a tentative script and pitched the story as well. I was quite impressed with the visuals that he sent me. I was so excited that in no time I prepared a two-column AV script of the video story and named it 'Badungduppa.' (You will be able to understand the term, once you watch the short video story). Do watch the insightful video and let me know your thoughts.

Sarthebari's Bell Metals: An Art Dying With Time

Another special video assignment was about the plight of the bell metal industry of Assam which is struggling to revive in contemporary times. Apart from helping with the script, I have lent my voice to this short documentary. Do watch this insightful video.
